Our Founder
Mr. Parente is the founder of Parente Law Group PC. He began practicing law in 1996. His main practice areas are Real Estate, Elder Law, Estate Planning, Estate Probate and Administration and Medicaid Planning. He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). He has been a frequent guest lecturer at the Long Island Board of Realtors (LIBOR), as well as other community groups, societies, and associations.
Previously, he served as Trial Attorney at James G. Bilello & Associates for three years where he participated in all phases of litigation including court appearances, motion practice and trials in personal injury defense. He conducted depositions, arbitration, and mediation hearings.
He retired from the NYPD at the rank of Lt. Special Assignment. Among his assignments were:
Executive Officer/Managing Attorney in the NYPD - Legal Bureau Civil Enforcement Unit where he managed the unit's daily operations, supervised a legal staff of 65 including 35 attorneys.
Counsel and aide to NYPD Police Commissioner. He was an integral member of the Police Commissioner's confidential staff. Among his duties were reviewing and making recommendations to the Police Commissioner about employee disciplinary cases and Equal Opportunity Employment cases, advising the Police Commissioner on departmental issues, governmental hearings, and committee reports.
